The year's at the spring, And day's at the morn; Morning's at seven; The hill-side's dew-pearl'd; The lark's on the wing; The snail's on the thorn; God's in His heaven-- All's right with the world!

Life is fleeting! but, life is real! life is earnest! we should all cherish every moment of life. in this poem, lark is a symbol of rejoice, it conforms to the basic tone of the poem, it is free among the trees and mountains, and it is enjoying its life. but, how about snail on the thorn? obviously, here there is a contrast of feeling since the thorn reminds us something disgusting and snail makes us feel lazy and careless. so here, this is a kind of bathos. maybe, snail symbolizes Pippa herself. the life is pricious, and everyone is enjoying their life, but when she is young which the most significant time of her life, she had to stay at the silk mill and endure the roughness of the life. she fell upon the thorns of life, and she bleed. however, she lacks the power to change the present situation since God's in his Heaven controlling the order of the whole world, paying no attention to the fate of her. here, it also demonstrate some kind of suspiction of the authority of God and it is a kind of crisis of bielif. seemingly, all's right with the world. actually, there are some discomposure, unstability and storm imbedden under the peaceful ocean.

ACCORDING TO ME, THE POEM BRINGS BEFORE US THE PROPER MEANING OF WHAT POETRY IS. IN OTHER WORDS , IF A LITERATURE-DRUNKED PERSON WANTS TO ENJOY THE AESTHETIC PLEASURE OF THE POETIC CONCEPT, AT HIS PRIMARY STAGE IT SEEMS TO BE NECESSARY FOR HIM TO PASS THROUGH THE THOROUGH READING OF PIPPA'S SONG, BECAUSE IT WILL MAKE HIM SURE ABOUT THE TRUE GLORY OF POETRY.
IF WE CAST A GLANCE SUPERFICIALLY UPON THE POEM, IT LOOKS LIKE A VERY SIMPLE VERSE WRITTER JUST FOR THE SAKE OF RECITING LOUDLY. BUT THIS IS NOT SO. ACTUALLY THE POEM IS PREGNANT WITH A VERY COMPLEX MATTERS WHICH DEMAND WORLDLY WISE AND INTELLIGENT MIND TO UNDERSTAND THE THOUGHTS INTERWOVEN IN THE VERSE OF THE POEM.
